ABOUT STPGA
SOUTHERN TEXAS PGA
The Southern Texas PGA is a member-based organization with a mission to serve its 900 PGA of
America Members and Associates, grow the game through STPGA programs, and elevate the
Association. We are part of the PGA of America and one of 41 Sections across the country.
Our PGA of America Members and Associates are world class professionals that are experts in
the game and business of golf. PGA Members are the backbone of the golf industry and are
located at over 250 facilities throughout Southern Texas. Our Members are proud to wear the
PGA badge and work in all aspects of the industry including golf operations, teaching and
coaching, and executive management. PGA Members pride themselves on working daily to
grow interest and participation in the game of golf.
The STPGA Headquarters are in Spring, TX and employs 14 full-time employees and over 100
part-time employees. Our Section is made up of 7 metropolitan areas that include Austin,
Beaumont, Bryan/College Station, Corpus Christi, Houston, Rio Grande Valley, and San
Antonio. The organization focuses on areas that serve our PGA Members through educational
opportunities, tournaments, employment and recruiting, and overall promotion of our Members.
The STPGA also focuses its time and resources on managing a 501(c)3 organization called PGA
of America REACH Foundation Southern Texas, best known as PGA REACH Southern Texas.
This Foundation has a mission to positively impact lives through the game of golf.
Our Mission
Our mission is to serve PGA Members, grow the game through STPGA programs, and elevate the Association.
PGA REACH SOUTHERN TEXAS
PGA of America REACH Foundation Southern Texas is a 501(c)3 organization focused on
impacting lives and communities through the transformative power of golf. Best known as PGA
REACH Southern Texas, the Foundation was formed in 1994 and annually impacts thousands of
individuals. Based in Spring, TX, PGA REACH Southern Texas brings together PGA of
America Members and Associates with individuals striving for personal growth and excellence.
Our Foundation stands on four pillars:
Junior Golf: The STPGA Junior Golf Program’s mission is to create lifelong golfers by
fostering programs and tournaments for juniors of all skill levels. Through the STPGA Junior
Golf Pathway, there is a spot for any junior, regardless of playing ability or experience. We
believe that by placing an emphasis on Junior Golf, we not only develop high character
individuals, but we have a direct impact on the future of the game of golf.
College Scholarships: Education is a vital part in anyone’s life journey, and our Scholarship
Program is a natural next step with our Junior Golf Program. We help young adults pursue their
academic dreams by providing scholarships to graduating high school and current college
students.
PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere): We introduce golf to Veterans and Active-
Duty Service Personnel with or without disabilities to enhance their physical, mental, social, and
emotional well-being while fostering camaraderie and wellness. This free program taught by
trained PGA of America Members and Associates saves lives each year!
Employment Opportunities: The game of golf is nothing without people dedicated to
profession, and therefore, through internships and PGA WORKS, we focus on providing
valuable work experience within the industry that young adults can either utilize to build a career
in golf or elsewhere.
By focusing on these pillars, PGA REACH Southern Texas is committed to making a lasting and
positive impact on the lives of those we serve and the communities we are a part of. Through the
game of golf, PGA REACH Southern Texas strives to uplift, inspire, and empower individuals to
reach their full potential.
