SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS - Omar Uresti, PGA Life Member claims the Southern Texas Senior PGA Professional Championship title by a seven stroke margin, finishing with a total score of (-8) 136 at TPC San Antonio (Canyons Course).
In his first round, Uresti carded seven birdies in a bogey free round to secure an impressive lead of four strokes with a 18-hole total of (-7) 65. Christy Longfield, PGA Director of Instruction at Spanish Oaks Golf Club, sat just behind him at (-3) 69, the only other player to shoot under 70.
In a tough final round, Uresti nearly matched each birdie with a bogey, keeping him at even par throughout the round. Staying steady, he managed to maintain his pace and finish one under par, securing his win with two rounds under par.
“Round one I came out firing, and it was a good solid day,” said Uresti. “Round two was not quite as solid, but I kept it pretty much in front of me, only to come out finishing strong.”
