The previous year Player of the Year will receive first choice of an exemption into the PGA Tour Tournaments held traditionally in the Houston or San Antonio areas each year. The STPGA Professional Champion receives an exemption into the event the POY does not pick. 

Any exemptions from Pre-Qualifying for PGA Tour events awarded to the Southern Texas PGA will be given to the leading finishers on the previous year Player of the Year point list. In the event an individual is previously exempt from the Pre-Qualifying or declines the opportunity, the next available finisher will be offered the exemption.

Note: The eligibility requirements of the PGA Tour, Champions Tour, or other events will supersede the STPGA’s definition or requirements. If this is the case the next highest individual on the respective points list would receive the benefit.
