Three Partners will elevate, support, and help showcase PGA Professionals during the Matches

SPRING, TEXAS - The Southern Texas and Northern Texas PGA are excited to welcome Srixon / Cleveland Golf / Asics, Mizzen+Main, and ClubCar as official partners of the 43rd Texas Joe Black Cup Matches.

The Matches will be held at Shadow Hawk Golf Club in Richmond, Texas, from Sunday, November 12 through Tuesday, November 14.

Srixon / Cleveland Golf / Asics is a new partner to the Texas Joe Black Cup Matches in 2023. Both Sections are excited that one of the biggest supporters of the Southern Texas and Northern Texas PGA continues to invest and support our PGA Professionals. This new partnership element for Srixon / Cleveland Golf / Asics is in addition to already established partnerships in both Sections where they support junior golf, professional events, and other member facing opportunities. This partnership will be highlighted by players receiving golf bags and shoes from the company to be used during the Matches.

Entering its second-year, the Dallas-based brand, Mizzen+Main is back as the official apparel partner of the Matches. Players from both teams will be outfitted from head-to-toe in Mizzen+Main apparel for the three days of the Matches. The high quality and overall performance of Mizzen+Main apparel is unmatched and something the players enjoy wearing and showcasing.

Lastly, the Southern Texas PGA is excited to continue its long-term partnership with ClubCar. ClubCar will be showcased while using Shadow Hawk’s fleet, as well as having two specialized carts for the captains of both teams, and a cart just for Mr. Joe Black. ClubCar has been a consistent brand alongside these matches having played the event at the best facilities in Texas!

“The STPGA is excited to continually elevate the Texas Joe Black Cup Matches and these partnerships are giving us that opportunity,” said Thomas Hutton, PGA Executive Director of the Southern Texas PGA. “We are very appreciative of the support provided by Srixon / Cleveland Golf / Asics, Mizzen+Main, and ClubCar and we know the Professionals are excited for what is to come at this year’s Matches.”

The Texas Joe Black Cup Matches is an annual competition between the Southern Texas PGA and the Northern Texas PGA Sections. The event was started in 1981 to honor Joe Black, a Snyder, Texas, native who was completing his first year as President of the PGA of America that year.

The Ryder Cup-style format features 12 golf professionals from each Section competing in Four-Ball and Foursome Matches on the first day followed by Singles Matches on the final day.

The overall Matches record is currently 20-20-2 with Northern Texas PGA holding the cup after their 2022 victory at Maridoe Golf Club.

It was inspiring to see over 200 members in attendance for what was a productive and insightful few days. As we look toward the year ahead, I am proud to share some significant highlights regarding our Section’s health and future direction. Exceptional Financial Growth During the Annual Meeting, we reported our 2025 year-end financials, and I am pleased to confirm that the STPGA remains in excellent financial condition. Revenue Milestone: We surpassed $8.7 million in revenue for 2025, marking a 55% increase since 2021. National Standing: The STPGA is now the 3rd largest operation out of the 41 PGA Sections—a remarkable feat considering we rank 11th in total membership. Reserve Fund: Our financial success has allowed us to establish a conservatively invested reserve fund. This provides a safety net for unforeseen circumstances and the flexibility to expand our staff, enhance our programs, and capitalize on future opportunities. A Roadmap for the Future We were thrilled to unveil our finalized Vision, Mission, and Strategic Pillars . It has been several years since this foundational document was updated, and these pillars will now serve as the compass for all annual planning and goal setting.
