GET IN TOUCH
Good Afternoon,
It is great to see over 100 people playing today in our first major of the year. We wanted to share three very important updates around our Tournament Program with the entire membership.
New Compensation Profile Policy
Starting with the Veritex Bank Spring Classic, in order to participate in an event, you must have your compensation profile filled out on PGA.org. This policy was approved by your Board of Directors during the March meeting for the benefit of you, the PGA Member and Associate. This confidential information is used to help increase salaries and wages for all positions within the industry. Evidence shows that this data is a very powerful tool that many members use every year. If you have questions or concerns or need custom reports to help you and your compensation, please reach out to Doug Turner or the Section office! If you have not updated or reviewed your compensation information on PGA.org, please do so today and you are set for the year!
Texas Team Championship
The Board of Directors has approved the following changes to the Texas Team Championship. These changes were made in conjunction with the Northern Texas PGA in the hopes of creating a more inclusive and competitive Championship with Life Members eligible to participate once again.
STPGA Section Championship
The 5th Stroke Play Major of the year will now be known as the STPGA Section Championship. The PGA Professional Championship Qualifier will be conducted in conjunction with the Section Championship. Life Members and Unemployed Members (provided they are still within their six month grace period) will be eligible to participate in the Section Championship. Eligibility for the PGA Professional Championship Qualifier will remain consistent with the PGA of America guidelines that states Members must be eligibly employed in one of the following classifications:
Should you have any questions regarding these updates, please don’t hesitate to reach out to myself or another STPGA staff member. We look forward to seeing you on the course soon!
