Over the last two days, the 55th Education Summit and Annual Meeting took place at Omni Houston where PGA Members experienced 3 keynote speakers, panel discussions, and elections for Section Officers and Board Members.
We would like to start by saying congratulations to our new Officers for the next two years. This includes President Bryan Minnick, Vice President Rich Ballinger, Secretary Darrell Fuston, and Past President James Brown.
We also held an election for At-Large Directors and would like to congratulate Rob Yee and Colton Escamilla. President Minnick will be announcing his Presidential Picks in the near future to finalize your Board of Directors for the next two years. As a way to better engage with our members, President Minnick would also like to give all PGA Members within our Section an opportunity to serve on a committee. While Committee Chairs will have final decision on who will be on each committee, we wanted to open up the opportunity to all Members to request being on a committee by clicking here.
This meeting was unique as we started a new tradition with the first ever President's Award given to Steve Hammond from the City of Austin Golf Courses. This award was a surprise, hand selected by the officers to draw attention to a PGA Member that works each day to promote the game and be a high quality PGA Member.
We also held our Annual Awards Banquet that showcased our 2022 Award Winners highlighted by Golf Professional of the Year James Brown and 12 other winners!
And lastly, the STPGA announced a new Strategic Vision Called STPGA For You! This updated vision showcases the section's continued focus on serving the members, growing the game, and elevating the association. Click Here to read the updated vision!
We are excited for a great 2023! Below are some links to pictures and videos. All presentations will be uploaded later this month for people to watch who were not in attendance. Next year's Education Summit and Annual Meeting heads to Austin, TX on Monday, February 5 - Tuesday, February 6.
Let's have a great year!
