MONT BELVIEU, TX (October 13, 2023) – The Energy Transfer Texas Senior Open presented by Vortech Contracting, City of Mont Belvieu, S&B, and Riceland, one of the most highly anticipated senior events in the country, is pleased to announce its return in 2023 with an unprecedented prize pool of over $100,000. This time next week, a Champion will be crowned after 120 Professionals and Amateurs compete over the course of three days. This significant increase in prize money is a testament to the tournament's commitment to supporting senior golfers and raising money for local charities.
"With Energy Transfer at the forefront, we have been able to build more and more relationships around the community that demonstrate the value and impact that this event has within the community," said Thomas Hutton, PGA Executive Director. "This year also marks the first year that the entire field will compete in one division to allow for an increase in the prize pool and more competitive rounds."
Kicking off the festivities, Eagle Pointe Golf Club will host the ribbon cutting of the Eagle Pointe Golf Club Phase 1A on Monday at 4 p.m. Eagle Pointe Golf Club is excited to welcome players to experience the newly renovated hole 16, a key part of the Energy Transfer Texas Senior Open. This marks the first of many phases of the golf course renovation, enhancing the playing experience for all participants.
Returning for 2023 is the Energy Transfer Texas Senior Open Pro-Am with 23 teams registered to tee off on Tuesday, October 17th. This event is made possible because of our incredible partners and benefits PGA REACH Southern Texas and our Scholarship Program. The day is filled with networking, great golf, and a fun atmosphere for local businesses and partners of the event.
