How would you describe the state of the industry today?
The industry recently experienced a surge like never before. Golf is growing in popularity as a sport where individuals both work and play. In particular, we’ve seen the impacts of Covid-19 and how it provided golf with an advantageous opportunity to attract new participants.
What changes/improvements have you seen in the industry since you've started?
Golf is making intentional efforts to be more inclusive of every participant/professional on every level. PGA REACH’s mission to impact the industry through the lives of youth, military, and diverse groups is making ripples throughout the game of golf.
What is the PGA of America doing that is going to benefit the PGA Member?
Specifically in terms of recruitment and retention, our Career Services team has outlined a few objectives that include:
- Fill the funnel of entry level applicants for green grass opportunities with a focus on a younger demographic
- Retention of current talent and students
- Support PGM University enrollments
- Educate PGA Professionals and Employers on challenges and how best to recruit talent in today's climate
- Lead the effort to diversity the workforce of the game
What benefits or rewards come from working in Recruiting in the golf industry?
I get to see full-circle moments everyday as individuals chase their aspirations to work in the industry.
How do you see the industry evolving in the next five years?
We are fortunate enough to be ushering in a new generation of golf professionals. I foresee the industry to be more representative of the world around us and more accessible to groups who have been excluded in the past.
What are you most looking forward to with working with the Southern Texas PGA?
Southern Texas holds a special place in my heart considering my collegiate roots – Prairie View A&M University. The section’s members, officers, and staff go the extra mile to ensure success across all areas.

Inquisitive, Easygoing, Passionate, Adventurous, Optimistic, and Motivated
What is your favorite golf memory?
My first PGA Collegiate WORKS Championship at TPC Sawgrass
If you could give a piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be?
Don’t romanticize the future and embrace the present.
What is your favorite part about working in the golf industry?
The fact that our office is a golf course.
