RICHMOND, TEXAS --- Greg Hiller, PGA Director of Instruction at TPC San Antonio, and Jared Jones, PGA Director of Instruction at River Oaks Country Club, share the lead after Round Two of the Southern Texas PGA Professional Championship presented by Cadillac, Club Car, Nine Iron Wines, and OMEGA. The duo both sit at 6-under-par 138 heading into the final round.
Robert Thompson, PGA Teaching Professional at Whispering Pines Golf Club, sits one stroke back at 5-under-par, while Ben Kern, PGA Head Professional at Georgetown Country Club, fired a three-under-par 69 in Tuesday’s round to head into Wednesday sitting in fourth-place.
Two professionals share possession of fifth place with a two-day total of 142. Ben Willman, PGA Teaching Professional at Axis Golf Academy, and Corey Roberson, PGA Director of Golf at The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch, round out the top-five.
Due to the inclement weather in the Richmond area, play was suspended at 3:20 p.m. and resumed at 5:45 p.m.
Shadow Hawk Golf Club is hosting the 54-hole stroke play event. The course is playing 7,046-yards, par 72 for this week’s Championship.
The purse for the 51st Southern Texas PGA Professional Championship presented by Cadillac, Club Car, Nine Iron Wines, and OMEGA is $40,000. The champion will take home a check for $7,800.
The Final Round will commence on Wednesday, August 28 at 7:30 a.m. Hiller, Jones, and Thompson will tee off at 12:00 p.m.
