PEARLAND, Texas – Despite the windy conditions, Tim Hobby, PGA Teaching Professional at The Club at Sonterra, fired an impressive 65 (-7) to lead the Senior Division heading into the final round of the 2019 TPx Communications Memorial Championship presented by Club Car, Columbia, GT Golf Supplies, and PXG.
Hobby carded five of his eight birdies on the front nine and finished his round with one bogey. Olle Karlstrom, PGA Head Professional at Walden on Lake Houston, follows in second with a score of 71 (-1), while Troy Schleicher, PGA Teaching Professional at The Woodlands Country Club, rounds out the top-3 with an even-par 72.
In the Open Division, there is a four-way tie between Jared Jones, PGA Director of Instruction at River Oaks Country Club), KC Lim, Assistant Professional at The Republic Golf Club, Ben Kern, PGA Head Professional at Georgetown Country Club), and Jesse Droemer, PGA Assistant Professional at Houston Country Club) who all entered the clubhouse with a 69 (-3).
Golfcrest Country Club, a 7,272-yard, par 72 layout, is playing host to the TPx Communications Memorial Championship presented Club Car, Columbia, GT Golf Supplies, and PXG in Pearland for the second time in four years.
