The Levy Cup Matches is an annual event in the Northern and Southern Texas Sections and are contested much like the Joe Black Cup Matches. The Levy Cup teams consist of four Assistant PGA Members (A-8 only), four STPGA Members of any Classification not already represented in these matches or the Texas Joe Black Cup Matches, and four Senior PGA Members (any classification) from each Section competing against each other.
Established in 2017, the Levy Cup Matches were created to honor Paul Levy who is a Past President of the PGA of America where he served his term from 2017-2018. The inaugural Matches were hosted October 15-17, 2017 at Royal Oaks Country Club in Dallas. The Northern and Southern Texas PGA Section’s alternate hosting the event each year.
The Southern Texas PGA hosted the eighth annual Levy Cup Matches in November 2024 at Black Hawk Country Club in Richmond, Texas. Team NTPGA took the matches for the fourth year in a row after winning 9 to 3 against Team STPGA.
At the conclusion of the Southern Texas PGA Section Championship (Assistants and Other Class A Members as defined below) and Memorial Championship (Seniors) the STPGA Team of 12 players will be determined as follows:

Lonny Alexander, PGA Teaching Professional at Onion Creek Club, taking the helm of the Levy Cup Matches Team, brings a strong background in player development and competition, positioning his squad for success in this highly anticipated event. Alexander also finished in the top 25 in all applicable points lists for 2024, demonstrating his consistent competitive excellence.
