MONT BELVIEU, TEXAS --- The Southern Texas PGA Foundation hosted its annual Pro-Am at Eagle Pointe Golf Club on Monday. This event has raised over $300,000 for junior golf, scholarships, and local charities since the creation of it in 2005.
The morning saw a field of 13 teams. The group of Mike O’Donnel, Blake Hill, Herb Clifton, David Francis, and Zoran Zorkic finished with a total of 119. Coming in second was the group of Colton Pitkin, AJ Lopez, Houston Glover, David West, and Shawn Stefani with a total of 120. Rounding out the Top-3 was Steve Abalos, Tyler McDonald, Chris Srubar, Russell Reid, and James Brown, PGA Head Professional at Royal Oaks Country Club.
Following the morning wave, the participants were treated to a surf and turf lunch. PGA TOUR player Shawn Stefani was on hand to present three college scholarships in his name. Colin Frimel, Grace Ni, and Bethany Reid all received $4,000 to help continue their education. Since its inception in 2013, the Shawn Stefani Scholarship has provided over $75,000 to 21 well-deserving junior golfers.
In the afternoon field, the group of Blake Barnes, Ryan Moss, Ken Clark, Brandon Casella, and Doug DeSive, STPGA President and PGA Head Professional at Corpus Christi Country Club led the field of 22 teams with a final score of 122. The groups of Ken Moore, Cody Bradbury, Hunter Cowan, Paul Fontentot, and Mike Standly and Craig Crudington, Austin Snell, Jacob Heck, Jim Setley, and Justin McKay finished in second and third, respectively, with total scores of 123 and 124.
Congrats to Emmanuel Franciocci on his hole-in-one on Hole 12. Franciocci was using his 8-iron from 127-yards out.
