San Antonio, Texas – The Texas Golf Hall of Fame is pleased to announce that Katie Street Manor of Frisco has been hired to be its Executive Director. “After a national search, we are delighted that Katie has accepted our offer. She was very impressive in her interviews before the Board of Directors and we have confidence that she will help the Hall move to the next level”, said Reid Meyers, Chairman of the Board.
Since it was reconstituted in 2010, the Texas Golf Hall of Fame has been located in San Antonio at the historic Brackenridge Park Golf Course managed under a contract with either Golf San Antonio or the Alamo City Golf Trail. During the Covid shutdown, the Board of Directors engaged in a long-range planning process and determined it needed a full-time executive director dedicated to growing the organization. “Our feasibility study confirmed that we are the biggest and best state golf hall of fame in the country. Accordingly, we need a professional running it and helping to make it bigger and better.” Meyers said.
Ms. Manor is originally from the Seattle area and captained the Boise State University, golf team. After obtaining a master’s degree in sports administration from Seattle University, she worked for the NCAA in Indianapolis. More recently, Manor was with the Northern Texas PGA and the NTPGA’s Foundation where she directed its capital campaign, coordinated its marketing and promotions, and directed various fundraising projects.
“My desire to lead the Texas Golf Hall of Fame into its future development is incredibly strong. Golf has always played a meaningful role in my life, both personally and professionally. It is a humbling privilege and absolute pleasure to represent the Texas Golf Hall of Fame as its Executive Director. I will bring energy, innovation, and a confident presence to the position as well as relationships throughout the state to those who have a deep connection to the game. I look forward to playing an instrumental part of a transformational change in the landscape of golf in Texas”, said Manor.
The Texas Golf Hall of Fame recently inducted its 2020 class which included Club Professionals Mike Wright and Dow Finsterwald, Jr., Tour Professional Angela Stanford, Amateur Hank Kuehne, and CBS announcer Verne Lundquist. San Antonio’s Oak Hills Country Club was inducted into the Hall’s Registry of Historic Golf Courses.
