SUGAR LAND, TEXAS (June 24, 2024) - The 9/9/9 Pro-Pro Championship took place at Sugar Creek Country Club. With a close race for champion, Eric Bogar, PGA Assistant Professional at Golfcrest Country Club and John Martin, PGA Head Professional at Golfcrest Country Club remain victorious by one stroke.
“We started hot, we ended hot,” expressed John Martin, PGA. “We started off 3-under and we played our last three holes 3-under, it was really maintained throughout. It was a good start and a good finish that got us through.”
After finishing the round at 14-under with 12 birdies and an eagle. Bogar and Martin had incredible looks throughout the round. Their games complimented each other well throughout the day.
“We just never really got ourselves in any trouble,” recalled Eric Bogar, PGA. “I think we missed one green the whole day and we hit birdie putts all day…we just rolled along, it was nice.”
The 9/9/9 Pro-Pro took place at Sugar Creek Country Club, a traditional 27-hole course designed by famed architect Robert Trent Jones, Sr. with “The Best Greens around.” Our Professionals enjoyed all 27 holes across the Robert, Trent and Jones Nines, respectively.
The 9/9/9 Pro-Pro is 27 holes of stroke play with alternating formats on each nine. On the Trent Nine, each team played Four Ball, on the Robert Nine, each team played Modified Alternate Shot, and lastly on the Jones Nine, teams took part in a Scramble. This year’s tournament was presented by E-Z-GO, Ouray, Golf Scorecards, Inc., Secret Links, Winston Collection and VinGlacé.
