The team carded 10 birdies and two eagles including a hole-in-one by Kingston Harper on Hole #5.
“We had a great time and the boys hit really well and made some great putts throughout the round,” said Rangel. “It was just a blast getting to watch them play.”
Rangel’s team was followed by Eric Bogar, PGA Assistant Professional at Golfcrest Country Club and his junior golfers, Austin LeClere, Nathan Richards, and Damian Garcia. Bogar’s team also had an impressive round with 10 birdies and one eagle but fell short of the win by 2 strokes.
Golfcrest’s Chase Smith, PGA Director of Golf was thrilled to host this year’s Pro-Junior Championship and compete in the event as well.
“This was awesome,” said Smith. “We were well represented here with three teams. It was great having a little bit of home course advantage, playing with our juniors, and Golfcrest is just very happy to have hosted this year’s Pro-Junior.”
The Southern Texas PGA’s busy summer continues next week with the 9-9-9 Pro-Pro at Whispering Pines Golf Club on Monday, June 27.
